It is the sequel to 1990 super-hit film Ghayal and will continue from where the first version left off.In 2013 producer Dharmendra expressed his interest to work on the sequel to Ghayal, and actor Sunny Deol was supposed to direct the movie, with the title Ghayal Returns.
